Situated in the lap of Central India; Satpura National Park popularly known as Madhai, stands nestled in the Mahadeo hills of the Satpura range. Satpura translates to Seven Mountains (sat-seven, pura– mountain). Satpura’s rich tapestry of flora and fauna include Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Crocodiles, Malabar Squirrels, the famous Albino Gaur etc. The water bodies attract a host of local and migratory birds, making Satpura a bird watchers paradise with over 300 species of birds.
Spend four nights in a lodge overlooking the mesmerizing backwaters of a dam built on Denwa River in Satpura National Park, the area is popularly known as Madhai. Built on 10 acres of forested land along the river and across the river lies the national park which is approached by a boat and then by jeeps to go deeper into forest. Enjoy meals overlooking the Denwa river serving a variety of Indian, continental and local cuisines.
